Conference on ‘Dance Research : proximity and practicality’

 

 

 

To reflect on in depth studies, methodological research, openings and opportunities in the field of dance and its traditions, a one day dance research conference will be organised by Dance Researchers’ Forum a part of Noopura Bhramari Foundation (R.)  The Forum is focusing on creating awareness about necessity of research in the field of art and also creating a platform for presenting papers for researchers.

Release of special issue, Research Journal, practical and theory based expression, release of book, research paper presentations and conferring of award in the presence of Senior Researchers and scholars will be the highlight of the conference. In this regard, interested researchers, senior artistes, research scholars / students (Ph.D., M. Phil., M.A.) can present research papers.

Topics for discussion
·         Themes: Dance History, Re-construction of old techniques, Media participation·         Sub themes : Works of classicality, a commentary, that which is of  educational significance, voicing a  contemporary scenario, having  social relevance, or related to  music, folk or other allied arts etc.
Call for papers

Research papers on any theme of the Conference are invited for presentation during the Conference. Student participation in the Conference will be highly appreciated. The abstract of papers, not more than 300 words, may be sent to Manorama B.N,  Convener, Administration section chief (editor@noopurabhramari.com) on or before 25th November 2012. The papers for the presentation will be accepted only after a thorough scrutiny and peer review.  Concerned authors will be intimated regarding the selection of their papers by 12th December, and they need to submit their full papers by 25th December 2012.
