Contribution of Karnataka to the Growth of Bharatanatya- A research based lecture at Mythic society

Editor and Trustee of Noopura Bhramari- Dr. Manorama B.N. delivered a lecture at the Mythic Society on May 8, 2022, as part of the Vidyarathna Sri R.S. Panchmukhi Memorial Endowment Lecture. The topic, ‘Contribution of Karnataka to the Growth of Bharatanatya,’ was presented at the Centenary Hall, Mythic Society, Nripatunga Road, Bangalore.

This talk focused on the history and development of Bharatanatyam through the lineage of Rājadāsis and Devadāsis. It also explored the ancient treatises of Karnataka, shedding light on their influence on the evolution of the art form. Dr. Manorama B.N. highlighted how these historical traditions contributed to the growth and transformation of Bharatanatyam over time.
